Founded in 1975, the Washington Volvo Club is the continuation of a club begun in 1958 for the care and feeding of Volvos of all years and styles. In 1978, the WVC was chosen to participate in a print and TV advertisement for Volvo Cars (the photo from that advert is on this page). After that, everything changed, and we ceased being a purely local Club. We went from fifty members to hundreds of members, from Sweden to Malaysia, from Maine to California, and in various places in between! We ma …

You're passionate about living an urban lifestyle without a car and are interested in meeting people who share those values. We'll plan fun social events to build connections between bicyclists in the city. It should be a laid back and fun group and not pretentious. Different activities we can partake in: Happy hours, music shows, group rides, dancing, board games, movies, the sky's the limit! Thi …

Knowing your way in the woods during inclement weather and having the right gear and clothing, particularly in winter, is essential to a safe and comfortable trip. This is distinctly not a car camping affair. You are expected to be in strong physical condition and to be able to handle yourself in the woods, read a map, and troubleshoot using experience and common sense. Hikes of various mileag …
